We are delighted to invite you to our next LWC Golf Day at Hayling Island Golf Club, Hampshire. We do hope you will be able to join us. All the details are below:
12 Noon – Arrival
12.30pm – Coffee & Bacon Rolls
1.30pm – 1st Tee
6.00pm – Drinks followed by a 2 Course Dinner
Carriages from 8pm
Cost – £125pp

We were delighted so many Sternians were able to join us for the CCF dinner on the 3rd May here at LWC. The dinner followed the successful CCF biennial inspection and amongst the guests were our reviewing officer, Col Lucy Giles, and RAF Odiham St Commander, Gp Capt Matt Roberts. Julyans dining hall looked resplendent as it was adorned with the CCF Banners, regimental silver, candelabras and flowers. The LWC catering team excelled and as good as the food may have been (or not have been) when you were here, they blew this out of the water.
By kind permission of the Commanding Officer of 19 Regiment Royal Artillery (The Scottish Gunners) we also had piper, Lance Bombadier M Beveridge, to pipe the top table into dinner.
This dinner was the first of our 5-year rolling Sternian dinners, others to follow over the next few years are; creative arts, performing arts, sport and academic themed dinners. We look forward to seeing many of you at these upcoming events.
It was so wonderful to see a gang of Sternians back together for London Drinks at Champagne Charlies. Thank you to all who could make it, it was wonderful to see you enjoying a catch up with old friends and meeting new ones. Sam, Kate and Clare from the Panda team (Philanthropy and Alumni) thoroughly enjoyed your company. You really are a fabulous bunch! We look forward to welcoming more of you at the next reunion.

We held a memorial service to celebrate the life of Julian Sands, A971, on Saturday 11th November, 2pm in the Gavin Hall, Lord Wandsworth College.
Julian was a much loved member of our community and his friends and family were keen to host a service at the College as a celebration and reflection on his life at LWC and beyond. It was wonderful to have contributions from his family and friends from LWC with tributes, poetry and music that were reminders of the time he spent at the College.
This event had evolved over the years from the ‘over 60’s lunch’ to the ‘LWC+30 lunch’ and it was wonderful to open up this event to all our Sternians (and with a festive twist). We look forward to seeing more of you at the next Christmas Lunch.

Global Online Reunion – 30th November 2023
We were joined online by Sternians across the UK and the Globe. We heard from Headmaster, Adam Williams with an update on everything LWC. Sam Corfield updated us all on The Foundation before being able to pop into decade or region break-out rooms to catch up with old mates or connect with someone in their neck of the woods. Next one coming up soon!

We had a wonderful evening of carols, fireworks, mulled wine and street food. Not to be missed next year!
LWCGS Golf Day – 28th September 2023
Thank you so much to all those that joined us for the Golf Day at The Army Golf Club. Sternians and parents teamed up for a wonderful day of golf, a few drinks, a delicious meal and plenty of laughs! .
Thank you Jeff Woollen, our president, and Andrew Barlow, our host, for arranging such a fantastic day and venue. The green ball challenge certainly brought out the competitive streak in everyone!
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible for our next golf day, to be held at Hayling Island Golf Club on the 8th May 2024. Save the date, more details to follow.

Coinciding with the School’s Centenary weekend, Mike Sims organized the 5-yearly weekend reunion of those stalwarts who arrived in shorts at LWC in and around 1953. (see Sternian mag 2019 for report and photo of the previous one, headed ‘Bunch of Brothers’).
Numbers had dwindled somewhat, sadly reflecting the effects of the passing years on us all, but nevertheless 17 of us, ably accompanied by 7 of our long-suffering wives and partners, sat down on June 23rd to enjoy an excellent meal at the Camberley Golf Club. We were honoured to be joined and addressed by our ever-youthful President, Peter Booth. Also several Sternians stood and amused us with tales of their moments of ‘glory’ whilst at school, mixed with some thought-provoking remarks about the future. To read in full please click here.
London Drinks, 13th June
The Duke of Sussex, Waterloo was the
setting for London drinks this year, it was
another glorious day and many ice-cold
beverages were consumed.
The stories were hilarious and the laughs
were loud. Thank you to all of you who
could make it.

Bournemouth Reunion,
18th May
We returned to the Toby Carvery in
Bournemouth on a sweltering hot
day. It was fabulous to see so many
familiar faces. This event had been
planned by Bob Hunt for many
years. Bob sadly passed away
earlier in the year. However it was
wonderful that his wife Margaret,
son Robert and Daughter Jane
were able to join us. Margaret came
with armfuls of photograph albums
that took everyone on a trip down
memory lane.
