Two majors went to row…

How did you spend Christmas?  Not in a boat measuring 7m x 2m in an Atlantic swell I assume?!  On 20th December 2015, Major Dave Lambert (2000 School), Army Air Corps and fellow Major Tom Brunwin set off from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to row the Atlantic in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.  Battling high seas, storms, blisters, sores and communication failures, they reached Nelson’s Dockyard in Antigua on 2nd February 2016 in the quite staggering time of 43 days, 16 hours and 18 minutes.  They were 1st in their pure pair class and 4th overall!  It was all for two charities, OAKS – Overseas Aid for the Kids of Sierra Leone and DDMT – Lt Dougie Dalzell MC Memorial Trust.  Do look at their website http://www.theatlanticdrifters.com/ for more information, read the article in the 2015 Sternian Magazine and look out for the update in the 2016 Sternian Magazine.
